When we left off we had a 12 point lead at the top of La Liga 2, with just 6 games remaining.
Only a disaster could possibly stop us being crowned a champions…
Surely we wouldn’t enter our worst run of form of the year at the business end of the season… Right??

As you can see, we’ve had a very impressive start to the season, picking up 10 wins, 2 draws and being yet to taste defeat. On the way we’ve scored 27 goals and allowed only 7, with only Tenerife conceding less.

Normally, I’m a disciple of my trusted 4-2-3-1 and my few attempts with a 3-at-the-back system haven’t been a success, but hopefully through some grit and determination this time will be a roaring success and catapult us into La Liga at the first attempt.

Setting the scene:
Since their formation in 1930, Catalonia-based Girona FC have only spent TWO seasons (2017 & 2018) in La Liga.
Currently playing in La Liga 2, out of the 11,200 capacity Montilivi stadium, the Gironistes are part owned by the City Football Group (which includes Manchester City) with another 44.3% of the club owned by Pep Guardiola’s brother, Pere.
